A Youtuber took the challenge of using Bitcoin as a payment method for a travel expedition around 8 countries. Though this Indian YouTuber planned to check whether he could survive on Bitcoin alone when taking a tour of 40 countries well, he completed 8 countries.
In an interview with Cointelegraph, Paco shared his travel story, offering a glimpse of his journey from Bengaluru to the countries he visited. Paco seemed to be highly inspired by the famous globetrotter Nellie Bly. Bly, in the 19th century, explored the globe in less than 73 days.
Paco worked in different sectors, but after hearing about Bitcoin, he determined to use Bitcoin to travel. When Paco went on his journey, he had zero dollars. The explorer sold his furniture and received $200 in Bitcoin. As soon as he started on the first day, the first Bitcoin meetup he attended in Bengaluru, one guy gave him $200 in Bitcoin. Paco’s initial plan is to go to 40 countries.
His plan was highly interrupted due to the sudden rise in Omicron variant cases in India, and he reached Africa when Cointelegraph interviewed him.
In talking to Cointelegraph, Paco raised concern for Africa and felt that the country needs more Bitcoin than any other country in the world. Paco’s challenge or adventure gives hope to crypto enthusiasts and indicates that cryptocurrencies can serve as a mode of payment in future; they might replace fiat currencies.
